The Documentary Filmmakers Group (DFG) is the UK's leading provider in documentary-specific training, and the national organisation working to promote talent and innovation in the industry. DFG’s status as a centre of excellence in this field was confirmed when it became a member of the elite Skillset Media Academy Network. We produce a range of courses and initiatives designed to support the development of documentary filmmakers’ careers, in the UK and overseas, ranging from European Pitching and Funding Workshops in partnership with EDN, to documentary production and training initiatives like Science on Film.

DFG's one month intensive Diploma in documentary filmmaking will give you the technical and practical skills you need to enter the industry and become a broadcast documentary filmmaker. By the end of the course you will be a confident self-shooter. You will have directed and edited two short films and be able to write, research and pitch your ideas - plus much more!
Run in partnership with Goldsmiths, University of London. DFG and Goldsmiths are members of the elite Skillset Media Academy Network.
