The Nipkow Programm is a fellowship programme designed to assist film and television professionals to expand their contacts and experience by providing grant-financed long-term training for professionals through:
-Internships with film and media institutions
-Practical professional counseling
-Courses
Not only has the Nipkow PROGRAMM established an extensive and flourishing network of film and media professionals in Western and Eastern Europe over the years - an interactive network of contrasts that has proven productive and successful - but it also brought many European co-productions to the screen and forged the way for future European co-productions and partnerships.
Since its interception, the programme has been involved in the realization of feature films, documentary films, shorts and animation or digital productions. Many have been international award-winners.
The programm awards grant for 3-6 months throughout the year (at EURO 1.500 monthly).

Conditions
Participants are selected on the basis of the quality of their work, professional recommendations and the quality of their project proposed for further education in Berlin; the selection is made by an international jury in Spring and Autumn.
Applicants must be:
-from European Countries that are members of MEDIA PLUS: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Kroatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom
-professionals (no students)
Applications must be in English and require:
-a detailed proposal for the project of 1 to 2 pages (with a description of goal and working plan during stay in Berlin)
-in case of application connected with screenplay / film projects please include a treatment, not longer than 8 pages
-CV / filmography
-two written recommendations (in original)
-samples of work (e.g. VHS cassettes, CD's DVD's)
