Lisbon Docs is a documentary pitching session consisting of:
- a pitching session and workshop
- screenings of new films
- master classes on international aspects of documentary making
It's a financing and co-production forum for documentary film which takes place in the framework of doclisboa – Lisbon International Documentary Film Festival.
The workshop is taking place on October 20-22, but is kicked off with an intro dinner on the evening of the 19th. In the intense working atmosphere of the pitching workshop, 21 documentary projects are discussed, developed and turned upside down by colleagues and a tutor team of six internationally experienced professionals.
On October 23 and 24 all projects are pitched to a panel of 10-12 Commissioning Editors from leading international co-production TV-channels.
Target Group
Lisbon Docs is open for Portuguese, Western and Eastern European documentary filmmakers and producers as well as a couple of participants coming from outside Europe. Submissions are accepted from professionals, who want to take part in an intense creative dialogue and development process. In the past Lisbon Docs has proven to be successful in pushing filmmakers into the international scene.
A small number of observer seats will be available. When participating as an observer you will take part in all sessions on equal terms with the pitching participants. The only difference is not having a concrete project developed and pitched.
Participation fee
Participation fees for Lisbon Docs are:
- First person connected to a project: 300 Euro
- Second person connected to a project: 200 Euro
- Observers: 200 Euro
EDN and Apordoc members get a 20% discount on the participation fee.
