Oscar Nomination for 'Rabbit à la Berlin'

Feb 5, 2010The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the Oscar nominations this week. This year, “Rabbit a la Berlin,” a film developed by Bartek Konopka, Piotr Rosolowski and Anna Wydra at the Documentary Campus Masterschool, is competing for the Golden Oscar Statuette. The ceremony announcing the winners will take place on Sunday, 7 March 2010, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.
The documentary, a Polish-German coproduction of Anna Wydra MS Films, Telewizja Polska and ma.ja.de Filmproduktion, MDR, RBB in association with ARTE, YLE, Lichtpunt and VPRO, tells the story of the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall through the perspective of the rabbits trapped between the walls as they face entrapment, adjustment, and eventual freedom and all of the other trials of being an ordinary rabbit caught between two conflicting ideologies.
