A quick guide to reelisor
What is a Reelisor?
Basically, a Reelisor can be any professional in the documentary film and media industry. For example, a director, producer, commissioning editor, distributor, filmmaker in training, funding body, editor or any other creative media folk. You are meant to help create the website – so be interactive, share your profiles, build up your network and maybe reelisor can help you in turn to get your projects off the ground – you never know!
Step 1: Become a Reelisor
To register you have to fill in a registration form with personal details and choose a member category (Basic Member / Premium Member / Commissioning Editor). The basic registration with reelisor is free of charge. European film professionals from countries that are members of the MEDIA programme may also choose to become a premium member for € 49.00 a year. As a premium member, you get unlimited and free access to the Documentary Campus Yearbook downloads in the reelisor download section and you are eligible for discounts to select festivals and training initiatives throughout the year. You can start small and become a premium member at any time!
Since reelisor is an exclusively European funded project, our primary focus lies on the European market. Of course non-European film professionals are also very welcome to join reelisor, upload their profiles and start networking! However, they may have to explain why they are interested in participating in reelisor. Furthermore, they are not be allowed to become premium members.
Step 2: Activation of your account
After you have sent us your registration, all you have to do is click the link in the e-mail we send you to confirm your e-mail address and then sit back and relax while we check your registration details carefully. Within the next 5 days you will receive an e-mail confirming or rejecting your registration. In the event of confirmation, your account/profile is activated and you can log in right away. In case we think you are not ready yet to become a Reelisor an e-mail will be sent to you stating the reasons why we cannot grant you access yet.
Step 3: Create your profile
Creating a profile in reelisor is quick and simple. You can disclose as much or as little information about yourself as you want. Therefore please make sure you check your privacy settings in your profile and in each of your projects. reelisor will always keep your personal information private and confidential. We will only show what you choose to share. You can post pictures of yourself or your film, you can upload trailers and post wants & haves. Of course you can edit your profile whenever you want.
Step 4: View profiles of other Reelisors
Start viewing your colleagues’ profiles. Learn about their companies, read their offers, and view their projects, pictures and trailers. You can easily get in contact with them using the reelisor messaging system. Browse through the commissioning editors index and check which slots there are for documentaries or who is searching someone to realise their film project...
Step 5: Invite colleagues
Once you have your profile up and running, start inviting colleagues to join and build your personal network. You can get in touch with these people via the reelisor messaging system or the following instant messaging services: Yahoo!-ID, MSN, ICQ, Skype, Jabber or Google.
