Description
The story of two sisters and the history of a land hurt by war, divided by the border and twinned by the "European dream".
During the 2nd World War, Liliane and Jacqueline’s parents are killed by the partisans. These two sisters are adopted by two different families from the municipal territory of Briga, Italy.
1947: France annexes Briga: La Brigue. The border separates into two parts the land and divides the people.
2007: the new cross-border twinning promises a new future for these mountains, but ancient quarrels and nationality changes are still taboo. Should people forget the past to look ahead?
Today, Jacqueline is Italian and expresses her distress through the poems she writes. Liliane is French and thinks of their genetic father, wondering whether he was a fascist: can she forgive the partisans who killed their parents?
